Tour of Holland 2026

August 29 – September 5, 2026

Tulips, windmills, and coastal breezes

Even the trip to Amsterdam was eventful: Following severe storms the day before, there was major chaos at Zurich Airport. After a delay of over an hour, our entire tour group was finally able to take off for Amsterdam. Thanks to Herbert and Francesco, the bikes and check-in had already been perfectly organized, and after a brief briefing, the trip could begin.

Even on the first few stages, we were accompanied by the typically changeable Dutch weather. On the ride from Amsterdam to Brielle, we battled through numerous rain showers before the weather finally cleared up as we rode along the coast. Due to forecasts of strong winds, the second stage was shortened as a precaution—a wise decision in the interest of safety.

After that, the Netherlands showed itself from its best side: magnificent bike paths, idyllic villages, windmills, dikes, and the impressive river landscapes of the Maas and Waal accompanied us. The long forest avenues around Apeldoorn also provided varied scenery. The longest leg to Lelystad, with a strong headwind, once again demanded a lot of strength and concentration—huge respect to everyone!

Unfortunately, the final leg to Amsterdam had to be canceled for safety reasons due to strong gusts of wind and rain. Instead, we enjoyed a leisurely morning and explored Amsterdam before wrapping up the trip with one last dinner together.
