Schwiizer Rundi V

15.06. – 21.06.2024

Alpine magic on two wheels

Scuol to Lausanne

Discover Switzerland on unknown paths. That was and remains the motto of the Schwiizer Rundi. In the fifth edition, we will again cycle on mostly unknown routes from the Engadine to Lake Geneva. We will pass rather unknown villages like Cuvaglia, Getwin or Leytron, but also more well-known places like Oberwald, Verbier, Sion or Aigle are on the programme. With the passes like Albula, Furka or Hongrin we enjoy Switzerland from its most beautiful side.

Although there are again some metres in altitude, the routes are easy to ride due to their relatively short distance. So if you like enjoyment of Switzerland, a dash of humour and sociability with a bit of calf burning, this is the tour for you.

Day 4

We admire the Grimsel Pass, the Binn Valley with its Roman bridge and the beautiful Valais. The 1000 metres in altitude will reward our legs today.

Day 5

Visp – Sion (85 km / 1940 m ascent)

We ride through the vineyards of Salgesch to Crans Montana, where we enjoy the lake and the mountain village. The descent to Sion is a special pleasure. And yes, there is Valais wine!

Day 6

Sion – Aigle (96 km / 1450 Hm)

We conquer one of the most famous stretches of the Tour de Suisse, up to Verbier with magnificent views! The descent through the vineyards to Aigle is magnificent.

Day 7

Friday 21 June 2024

Vouvry – Lausanne (62 km / 1050 m elevation gain)

A section of this route has already been ridden during a previous Tour of Switzerland, but it continues to fascinate us. In Lausanne we board the train in comfort and return to Baar, while our bikes are transported separately.
