Day 1

Sunday

Arrival: Flight Zuerich – Chisinãu

Guests are met at the airport by a German-speaking hostess. Transfer to the hotel (20 minutes by minibus). Depending on arrival time, lunch and/or dinner at Hotel Klassik.

Day 2

Monday

Bike Tour 1 and Excursion Cricova Cella

After breakfast, ride of around 70 to 100 kilometres, followed by lunch at the hotel. After a short break, drive by minibus to the Cricova wine cellar (approx. 30 minutes). Two-hour tour of the production facilities and the stately collection of classic wines and champagnes. These are stored in a huge complex of underground passages created in the 15th century when limestone was quarried for the capital.

In the underground labyrinth, which is 120 km long, there is a constant temperature of 12° C and a maximum humidity of 98%. In these excellent conditions, 30 million litres of quality wine are stored. Tasting together with a cheese platter at the end of the tour. After returning to the hotel, dinner at the hotel or free time in the city.

Day 3

Tuesday

Cycle Tour 2 and City Centre Visit

After breakfast day tour (approx. 70 to 100 km), after return lunch at the hotel. Evening programme: guided tour of the centre of Chisinau, followed by dinner in a restaurant in the city centre.

Day 4

Wednesday

Cycle Tour 3 and Excursion Old Orhei

After breakfast, drive to the famous caves and historic sites of Old Orhei (approx. 65 km). Visit of the caves and surroundings followed by lunch. Return to the hotel by bike or minibus as desired. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 5

Thursday

Cycle Tour 4 and Visit to a Russian Sauna

After breakfast, ride of around 70 to 100 kilometres, followed by lunch at the hotel. At 4 pm visit to a typical Russian sauna (banya), booked exclusively for our group. Similar to the Finnish sauna, the Russian sauna also includes steaming and clapping with birch twigs (venik). A visit to a banya improves the blood circulation of the skin and is effective against muscle tension. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 6

Friday

Cycle Tour 5 and visit Castel Mimi (with Winery)

After breakfast, ride of around 70 to 100 kilometres, followed by a light lunch at the hotel. At 3 pm, drive by minibus to the Castel Mimi winery, one of the top 15 most beautiful wineries in the world. Past and future meet the present and promise an incomparable experience. Constantin Mimi, a pioneer among winemakers and an influential figure of the 20th century devoted himself entirely to viticulture. The application and implementation of his knowledge acquired in Western Europe helped him to achieve considerable success and opened up the possibility of building Moldova's first chateau. His production produced great wines and by introducing new technologies he raised standards. Thanks to his commitment, Moldova's wine production has defied several adversities and today Moldova is one of the world's leading wine producers. Wine tasting and a variety of traditional local dishes for dinner.

Day 7

Saturday

Cylcle Tour 6 and Et Cetera Winery

After breakfast, drive about 130 kilometres to Et Cetera, a small family business. Changing and shower room available on arrival. Lunch. Visit to Et Cetera. Founded in 2009, the winery combines modern winemaking techniques with time-honoured methods (e.g. ageing on the lees in barrels) to achieve unique bouquets that capture the hearts of wine lovers. Guided tour through the production and explanations of the most important topics of winemaking by the owner and winemaker Alexandru Luchianov. Tasting followed by a meal. Return journey by minibus.

Day 8

Sunday

Return Journey: Chisinãu – Zürich

Breakfast followed by transfer to the airport. Return flight to Zurich.

Approx. EUR 1'480.00 per week (depending on number of participants and EUR currency)

Rental bikes

If you don’t want to bring your own bike, we also offer high quality road bikes of the noble brand Storck for our domestic bike tours. Our bikes are equipped with Look or SPD pedals. Please bring other pedal systems with you. If you don’t want to give up your usual seating comfort, bring your saddle.

We make sure that the bikes are safely taken care of on the road.
