Tour of Morocco

From the Atlas Mountains to the Atlantic Coast

Our tour of Morocco took us in several stages from Marrakech to the Atlantic Coast, showcasing the country’s full diversity. After starting in the lively imperial city, we quickly left the urban surroundings behind and immersed ourselves in the open landscapes around the Atlas Mountains.

A central part of the journey was crossing the High Atlas via the Tichka Pass at over 2,000 meters. The route continued through the Ounila Valley and past traditional mud-brick villages to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, where we gained insight into the region’s history and architecture.

As we proceeded, the landscape changed increasingly: mountain ranges gave way to barren plains and desert-like areas. The stages took us through remote regions featuring oases, small settlements, and long, quiet roads. We were accompanied by a local team and a tour chef who provided us with freshly prepared meals along the way.

Another section of the journey took us to the region around Tafraoute, known for its striking granite cliffs and traditional Berber villages. Here, the itinerary included varied loop routes through the mountainous terrain. The planned final stage on road bikes could not be completed due to weather conditions. Instead, a transfer took us to the coast, where we concluded the trip together in Agadir.

A week of intense stages, diverse landscapes, and many impressions of Morocco’s culture and daily life.
