Day 2

Saturday, February 13, 2027

Arrival in Kuala Lumpur, adjusting to the time zone, and sightseeing

After arriving in Kuala Lumpur around 9:30 a.m., we’ll be taken to the hotel and will have a chance to freshen up briefly. Afterward, a city tour is on the agenda, during which we’ll explore the main sights and experience the unique atmosphere of the Malaysian capital. The fascinating blend of a modern skyline, colonial heritage, and Asian culture makes Kuala Lumpur an exciting start to our journey. Afterward, there will be plenty of time for individual exploration, a shopping spree, or a relaxing break. In the evening, we’ll meet for dinner together and get in the mood for the upcoming “Tour of Asia III.”

Day 3

Sunday, February 14, 2027

Kuala Lumpur – Ipoh (approx. 85 km / 470 Hm)

After breakfast, we’ll leave the metropolis of Kuala Lumpur and first take a bus about 120 km north, where our first cycling stage begins. To ease into the ride, we’ll enjoy mostly flat and pleasant kilometers through Malaysia’s tropical landscape. The route takes us past sprawling palm plantations, lush rainforest, and through small villages that offer an authentic glimpse into life away from the big cities. With a little luck, we’ll spot our first monkeys or other exotic animals along the way. Step by step, we immerse ourselves in the fascinating nature of Southeast Asia.

Day 4

Monday, February 15, 2027

Ipoh – George Town, Penang (approx. 110 km / 570 Hm)

Today’s stage takes us from Ipoh toward Penang. Along the way, we’ll stop in Kuala Kangsar to visit the famous temple complexes and the park with its striking trees, some of which are centuries old. About halfway through the route, we’ll continue our journey and approach the island of Penang. To avoid the heavy traffic near George Town, we’ll transfer to the support bus for the final stretch. Once we arrive in George Town, there will be time to explore the lively old town and experience the island’s unique charm.

Day 5

Tuesday, February 16, 2027

George Town, Penang – Alor Setar (approx. 102 km / 260 Hm)

We leave George Town and set out on our first stage along the coast of the Strait of Malacca. The historic old town of George Town, with its colonial buildings, temples, and colorful streets, provides an impressive starting point for today’s journey. After a few kilometers, we take small boats across to Tanjung Dawai. Along the way, there are plenty of opportunities to take a break in one of the fishing villages. Those who wish can sample freshly caught fish or seafood before we reach our destination for the day, Alor Setar.

Day 6

Wednesday, February 17, 2027

Alor Setar – Border Crossing – Satun (approx. 129 km / 600 Hm)

Today marks the final leg of our journey through Malaysia. The route first takes us through some gently rolling, pass-like sections before we reach the border with Thailand after about 90 kilometers. Crossing the border marks a special moment on our journey, as this is where a new chapter begins—with a different language, culture, and atmosphere. After completing immigration formalities, we’ll continue on to Satun, our first stop in Thailand.

Day 7

Thursday, February 18, 2027

Satun – Pak Meng (approx. 143 km / 570 Hm)

A short transfer of about 50 kilometers takes us to the starting point of today’s stage in the morning. We then set off on our first stage in Thailand. Along the way, we pass Kaoh Ting Cave, one of the region’s many natural attractions and an impressive stop along the route. At 143 kilometers, this day is one of the longer stages of the trip. Anyone who wants to shorten the distance can use the support bus at any time and rejoin the route at various points.

Day 8

Friday, February 19, 2027

Pak Meng – Krabi Ao Nang Beach (approx. 118 km / 500 Hm)

After yesterday’s long stage, today’s itinerary features a somewhat more relaxed route. Our destination is Ao Nang near Krabi, one of southern Thailand’s most famous vacation regions. The route winds through the region’s characteristic karst landscapes, which are defined by their striking limestone cliffs. In the afternoon, we’ll arrive at our hotel, where we’ll spend the next two nights. The location right by the sea offers the perfect opportunity to put our feet up and recharge.

Day 9

Saturday, February 20, 2027

Rest Day in Krabi

Today we’ll enjoy a well-deserved rest day at Ao Nang Beach. The day is yours to enjoy as you wish, offering the chance to relax on the beach, swim in the sea, or explore the area on your own. If you’d like, treat yourself to a traditional Thai massage or visit one of the many restaurants and cafés along the beach promenade. In the evening, we’ll meet for dinner together and get in the mood for the next stages of our journey.

Day 10

Sunday, February 21, 2027

Krabi – La Mae (approx. 118 km / 730 Hm)

Refreshed and re-energized, we set off on the second half of our tour through Thailand. Today’s stage takes us from the west coast toward the east coast, showcasing yet another part of the country. After the first section of the route by bike, we’ll transfer to the support bus and travel about 140 kilometers to La Mae. This will save us time for the upcoming stages and allow us to reach our destination for the day in a relaxed state. Once in La Mae, we’ll prepare for the next few days along the coast of the Gulf of Thailand.

Day 11

Monday, February 22, 2027

La Mae – Chumphon (approx. 130 km / 560 Hm)

One of the most beautiful coastal stages of the trip awaits us. The route runs for about 130 kilometers along the Gulf of Thailand and offers frequent views of the sea. We’ll pass through small coastal towns and experience daily life away from the well-known tourist areas. The salty scent of the sea and the relaxed atmosphere accompany us throughout the day. Our destination for the day is Chumphon, known as the gateway to the islands in the Gulf of Thailand.

Day 12

Tuesday, February 23, 2027

Chumphon – Ban Krut (approx. 152 km / 730 Hm)

Today’s itinerary features the “queen stage,” covering over 150 kilometers. The route mostly follows the coast but also veers inland from time to time. This makes the route particularly varied and offers a constant stream of new sights. The extra kilometers and elevation gain require good stamina but are rewarded with numerous highlights along the way. At the end of the day, we’ll reach Ban Krut, one of the most famous coastal towns in this region.

Day 13

Wednesday, February 24, 2027

Ban Krut – Khiri Khan (approx. 83 km / 430 Hm)

After yesterday’s long “queen stage,” a much more relaxed day awaits us today. The roughly 83 kilometers to Prachuap Khiri Khan offer a chance to stretch our legs a bit and slow down the pace. We’ll reach our hotel by early afternoon and have plenty of time to explore the town or relax on the beach. Those who wish can round out the day with a refreshing swim in the ocean.

Day 14

Thursday, February 25, 2027

Khiri Khan – Hua Hin (approx. 111 km / 310 Hm)

Today’s stage takes us to the famous coastal town of Hua Hin. After all the kilometers we’ve covered together, the 110 kilometers have almost become routine by now. The route continues along the Gulf of Thailand, bringing us closer to our ultimate destination, Bangkok, with every turn of the pedals. Once we arrive in Hua Hin, there will be time to enjoy the lively beach promenade, the markets, or the sea.

Day 15

Friday, February 26, 2027

Hua Hin – Bangkok – Skylane (approx. 23 km)

Today we say goodbye to the coastal region and take the support bus to Bangkok. There, one final cycling stage together awaits us at the airport along the famous Skylane. On this roughly 23-kilometer loop, we can reflect on the past two weeks and bring the tour to a relaxed close.

Day 16

Saturday, February 27, 2027

Bangkok, Sightseeing / Return Trip to Switzerland

The last day in Bangkok is yours to spend as you wish. Use the time to explore the Thai capital on your own—visit temples and markets, or simply enjoy the bustling atmosphere of the metropolis. Perhaps there will also be time for some last-minute souvenirs or a leisurely end to the trip. In the afternoon, we’ll be transferred to the airport. In the evening, we'll board our flight back to Zurich.

Day 17

Sunday, February 28, 2027

Arrival in Switzerland

On Sunday morning, we’ll land in Zurich. After more than two weeks filled with new impressions, shared experiences, and countless kilometers on two wheels, our journey through Malaysia and Thailand comes to an end.
