Start the spring in the heart of the sunny country of Switzerland.
What could be better than welcoming the beginning of spring in Ticino – the sunny land of Switzerland. For this, Lugano offers an ideal starting point for two beautiful stages in hopefully glorious weather. The journey to Lugano will be made either individually by train or by car. Car pools will also be formed with the Zollinger bus. The bikes can be dropped off and picked up in Baar.
Arrival in Lugano.
6:00 p.m. Reception with briefing, followed by dinner.
Lake Lugano and Lombardy (110Km / 1100Hm)
We will drive from Melide along the lake to Mendrisio. Leaving Chiasso and Como on the left, we will drive on beautiful side roads into Lombardy. In Quadri we discover the beautiful paintings on the houses and shortly before Varese we take the “Il Piccolo Stelvio”, which is always ridden during the autumn classic “Coppa Bernocchi”. But don’t worry, the 1.5 km climb is just right for spring. Via Varese it goes back to Lake Lugano and in Ponte Tresa also back to Switzerland. From here it is only a stone’s throw to Lugano.
Three Lakes Tour (80Km / 1080Hm)
This time we ride in the other direction, along Lake Lugano. In Piano Porlezza we cross the nature reserve of the same name with a view of Lago di Piano. In Menaggio we enjoy the view of Lago di Como, which we follow until Argegno. Of course we won’t miss the coffee (and maybe a piece of cake) to fortify ourselves for the return trip to Lugano. We will arrive in Lugano around 15:00 or 16:00, so everyone can get home safely.
If you don't want to bring your own bike, we also offer high quality road bikes of the noble brand Storck for our domestic bike tours. Our bikes are equipped with Look or SPD pedals. Please bring other pedal systems with you. If you don't want to give up your usual seating comfort, bring your saddle. We make sure that the bikes are safely taken care of on the road.
