Fancy a track taster course?
Clear the way for all racing bike enthusiasts who have always wanted to get a taste of the unique air high up in the steep curve, shoot across the parquet of a cycling track or get to know the fabulous world of the velodrome.
Deepen your initial knowledge, refine your riding skills on the track or just try it out as a rookie.
The Tissot Velodrome is the national stadium of Swiss cycling and the education and training facility for future and current cycling heroes and has the purpose of promoting cycling in Switzerland.
The taster course with theory and practice lasts two hours (08:30 – 10:30). We will be familiarized with the basic rules and the fascination of track cycling and do the first laps in the Velodrome. A license is not required.
At the following lunch in the restaurant “La Musette” we will find out how many nails were needed to build the racetrack made of Siberian spruce in the Tissot Velodrome?
What do the colored lines on the wooden racetrack mean?
What is the speed of cycling in the Swiss national cycling stadium?
How was the Tissot Velodrome financed? We will get answers to these questions as well.
Great affinity for cycling, regular road biking, knowledge of clipless pedals.
“Safety first”: the safety of all trainers on the track is paramount at the Tissot Velodrome: only those who are already experienced track riders, or have successfully completed a track course, will be allowed to use the track independently.
