Bern - Marseille / Route du Soleil

Our six-day Route du Soleil tour took us from the heart of the Alps all the way to the Mediterranean coast – a journey through impressive landscapes, vibrant villages, and towns steeped in history.

We set off following the Rhône southwards, passing lakes and gentle mountain passes, gradually reaching the first towns with their historic centres. Quiet country roads alternated with more lively stretches, sometimes lined with walnut trees, other times weaving through vineyards or small villages rich in local character.

Along the way, there was always time for a pause, good conversations, and the occasional culinary discovery – whether a regional specialty, a cool drink, or simply a shared moment of rest. Our route led us through the Drôme region, into the southern part of Provence, and finally down to the Mediterranean.

Highlights included the crossing through Orange with its Roman architecture, the stretch along the Rhône into Avignon, and the final kilometres through Martigues to the old harbour of Marseille. The mood upon arrival was filled with pride and joy at what we had accomplished.

This week was all about shared experiences: varied routes, cultural highlights, and genuine hospitality made the Route du Soleil an unforgettable journey for everyone involved.
