Tour of Vietnam

From north to south: Vietnam in all its facets

Our tour of Vietnam began in lively Hanoi and soon took us out into the impressive natural landscape of northern Vietnam. Along quiet roads, past rice fields, karst mountains, and small villages, we reached the green valley of Mai Chau—an atmospheric start between stilt houses and rice terraces. The ride through the Pu Luong Nature Reserve delighted us with sweeping views, dense forests, and unspoiled rural life.

The stage around the Vietnamese New Year Tết Nguyên Đán was particularly impressive: festively decorated houses, laughing children on the roadside, and a noticeably peaceful atmosphere made this day culturally unique. Along the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, we repeatedly encountered evidence of the country’s turbulent history. Due to the weather, we swapped our bikes for a bus, which surprisingly led us to a Vietnamese wedding celebration – an unforgettable insight into the warm hospitality of the country.

In central Vietnam, we visited the impressive Vinh Moc tunnels and crossed the historic Hien Luong Bridge before reaching the imperial city of Hue. We rolled over the famous Hai Van Pass towards the coast to Hoi An, where an atmospheric old town awaited us.

The following days were marked by beautiful coastal roads, fishing villages, and endless rice fields. Natural wonders such as Bãi biển Đá Đĩa and spectacular views along the coast of Phú Yên showed Vietnam at its most beautiful before we rolled into Nha Trang. The long climb up into the highlands to Da Lat demanded all our strength once again and rewarded us with fresh mountain air and magnificent panoramas.

The grand finale was our arrival in the vibrant metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City with a farewell dinner together on the Saigon River – a fitting end to a journey full of contrasts, emotions, and unforgettable encounters.
