In the footsteps of Gilberte de Courgenay
The Swiss cult film from the 1st World War “Gilberte de Courgenay” has probably shaped the image of the German Swiss about the Welschland for a long time. On our Happy Weekend Event we enjoy the wonderful landscape of the Jura, along the Doubs to Olten. We start in the city of Mr. Chevrolet in La Chaux-de-Fonds and end our journey in Olten. Of course not without visiting the cities of Gilberte. Let yourself be enchanted by this dreamlike region and do you already hear the song in your ear?.. C’est la petite Gilberte, Gilberte de Courgenay…
16.00h Departure from Olten by bus to La Chaux-de-Fonds. Free parking is available in Olten. Approx. 19.00h Dinner and presentation of the tour.

We ride over the Jura hills in the direction of France and cross the national border almost imperceptibly. From here we follow the border river Doubs through the Doubs valley. Our journey leads us back into Switzerland, past Saint Ursanne, towards Courgenay and then on to Pruntrut and Porrentruy respectively, where we will certainly treat ourselves to a shower and an aperitif. Dinner will then take place under the sign of Gilberte. We dine in the original location of the film in the Hotel de la Gare, La petite Gilberte. Singing along is a matter of honor.

Leisurely it goes from Pruntrut over mostly unknown routes in the direction of Laufen. The Jura shows its most beautiful side here and we will enjoy the rolling along to the fullest. Our ride leads us via Nunningen to Eptingen. Then we tackle the final climb over the Belchenfluh. We gratefully take the descent via Langenbruck and Hägendorf and then roll straight on to our destination in Olten, which we will reach around 16:00h.
If you don't want to bring your own bike, we also offer high quality road bikes of the noble brand Storck for our domestic bike tours. Our bikes are equipped with Look or SPD pedals. Please bring other pedal systems with you. If you don't want to give up your usual seating comfort, bring your saddle. We make sure that the bikes are safely taken care of on the road.
